To adjust to the rising costs of providing bikeshare in Metro DC, we'll increase prices on August 1. This will help us maintain our system's infrastructure including more station upgrades and increased ebike availability.
So, what are the big changes?
Capital Bikeshare's annual membership will increase to $120 year. Ebike rates will increase from $0.10 to $0.15 per minute. Extra-time rates for classic bike rides over 45 minutes and out-of-station parking charges for ebikes will remain the same for members.
*University members will pay $25 a year until January 2026 when the new price increase goes into effect. However, ebike rates will increase to $0.15 per minute on August 1.
If you're enrolled in auto-renewal, your membership will automatically renew at the new rate after August 1, unless you cancel.
We will continue Monitoring Capital Bikeshare price changes and update them on Capital Bikeshare Membership Pricing History Page.
