NYT Update on Introducing Subscription for Mini Crossword
The New York Times update on subscription requirement to access the Mini Crossword starting August 26, 2025. Below is a screenshot showing the Mini Crossword page changes from free to paid.
The NYT Mini Crossword, which was initially free to play, is now behind a paywall. To play the New York Times Mini Crossword, you can choose either:
- A 1-year plan that costs $25 per year (new customers pay $6 for the first year), or
- A 4-week plan that costs $2 every 4 weeks (new customers pay $1 every 4 weeks for the first year).
Either subscription gives you access to all NYT games but does not include access to New York Times digital news content.
The New York Times All Access subscription, which costs $12 every 4 weeks, includes access to all NYT games plus digital news content.
