DreamHost Retires Shared Hosting Unlimited Plan

Previously, DreamHost shared hosting offered two plans: Shared Starter and Shared Unlimited (check pricing history). The Shared Starter plan allowed you to host only one website, who price started at $7.99 per month. The Shared Unlimited plan, which cost $13.99 per month, allowed unlimited websites, unlimited email, and unlimited traffic.

Now, DreamHost has new hostings plans which no longer include the unlimited plan. Instead, there are three hosting options: Launch, Growth, and Scale.

• Launch Plan: $7.99/month, limited to 25 websites and 40,000 monthly visits.
• Growth Plan: $8.99/month, limited to 50 websites and 200,000 monthly visits.
• Scale Plan: limited to 100 websites and 400,000 monthly visits.

Other restrictions introduced in all plans include limits on the number of subdomains you can create, the number of MySQL databases, the number of email accounts you can create, and storage space.

In an email sent to partners, DreamHost says that existing customers on Shared Unlimited plan which has been retired will not be affected by the changes.
