We understand that rising electricity costs can be difficult. We're committed to keeping you informed and offering tools and resources to help you manage your energy use.

Last summer, your highest BGE bill included electricity charges of $253.34.

This summer, based on similar usage, temperatures, changes in rates and the price of electricity, your highest monthly electric bill could be $309.88. This amount does not include gas usage or credits.

Why are energy costs going up?

Higher electricity prices - Electricity prices have increased due to growing demand throughout the region. While this will have the biggest impact on your bill, BGE does not set or control these prices, as they are regulated by State and Federal commissions.
