Discord Update on Nitro Price Increase on June 9th in Australia
Discord has sent an email update to Nitro subscribers in Australia, notifying them of a price increase starting June 9, 2025. The email update is attached below.
The price of a Discord Nitro subscription will increase when your subscription renews in Australia starting June 9th. The annual Nitro subscription will rise from A$129.99 to A$149.99 - a 15% increase. Discord says that the price increase is intended to help improve Nitro and introduce new features.
Here is what Discord had to say about the price increase:
"Starting on 9 June 2025, the price of your Nitro subscription will increase from A$129.99 to A$149.99 per year. This means your subscription will automatically renew at A$149.99 per year starting on 15 August 2025. Please note, your total price may include additional costs, if applicable, such as Server Boost subscriptions.
We understand that pricing updates can be tough, especially during this time. This decision wasn’t easy, but it allows us to keep making Nitro better for everyone and bring you more of the perks you love."
Currently, a Discord Nitro subscription in the U.S. costs $9.99 per month or $99.99 per year. This means that, even after the price increase, Nitro is still comparatively cheaper in Australia when considering the current AUD to USD exchange rate.
