WDFW Update on Fishing and Hunting License Fee Increase on July 1st
The Washington Department of Fish & Wildlife (WDFW) posted an update on the increase in fishing and hunting license fees, effective July 1, 2025. A screenshot of the update is attached below.
WDFW states that hunting and fishing license fees will increase by 38% starting July 1st, 2025. This change follows the passage of the recreational fishing and hunting licenses bill, which was signed into law by Governor Bob Ferguson on May 17, 2025.
The table below shows a comparison of selected license fees before and after the increase for residents:

Note: Youths (up to 16 years old) and senior residents (70 years or older) will receive discounted rates. For example, seniors will continue to enjoy an estimated 66% discount based on the previous (current) fees shown above.
