BBC Update on Introducing Subscription Pricing Plans in the US
BBC has updated its website to include digital subscription pricing plans for readers in the United States. Below is a screenshot of the subscription price page.
BBC News subscription costs in the US start at $8.99 per month or $49.99 for the first year. After the first year, the price increases to $89 annually.
The subscription gives you access to BBC News channel live streams, news articles, and videos. BBC also says that in the future, it will add ad-free podcasts and premium documentaries.
According to BBC’s subscription terms, you will not be able to access your digital subscription(s) while traveling outside the United States.
Although BBC News is currently accessible for free in the US, the introduction of a subscription suggests that, in the near future, you should expect a paywall and other content access limits.
