In the United States, the Family Plan costs $22.99 USD/month. Based on the current exchange rate, A$39.99 is approximately USD 26.04, meaning Australian customers are paying around $3 more than users in the U.S.
YouTube states that the subscription price increase is intended to improve YouTube Premium and support creators on the platform. The new pricing will take effect from your next billing cycle.
